Game setting

Valorant is a first-person shooter game that takes place in the near future. Players participate in the gunplay as agents who are part of either attacking or defending the team. Each team has the capacity of a maximum of 5 players. The characters are based on various cultures of countries around the world. Agents possess unique abilities that require charges. They also have an ultimate ability which is activated through deaths, kills, and spike actions.

Gameplay

Players begin the round in the main mode in their respective teams. In Valorant Initially, they are armed with the  “classic” pistol along with one or more charges for “signature ability”. Further ability charges and weapons are purchased through an economic system within the game where award money is based on the results of last rounds, killings were done by the player, and on spike action as well. The game provides various high-tech weapons such as submarine guns, sidearms, machine guns, shotguns, sniper rifles, and assault rifles. There are automatic and semi-automatic weapons as well such as “ Odin” “Vandal” and “Spectre. These weapons have recoil patterns and players have to control them to shoot accurately.

Winning points

Valorant standard mode which is non-ranked, the tournament is comprised of 25 matches. The team that wins 13 matches is declared the winner. The attacking team is provided with a bombing device called “Spike”. In order to win, they have to deliver and activate the device on a specified location and then save that activated device for a certain time period. While the defending team has to deactivate the “Spike” or keep the attacking team from activating the device for a 100-second timer to win a point. If all the attacking team members are eliminated before Spike activates, or if all the defending team members are eliminated without deactivation the Spike then the opposite team wins a point.

Spike Rush

Spike Rush is a mode, that is comprised of 7 rounds in total in which one Spike can be activated in each round. All the players begging the Valorant game with the same randomized gun. This mode doesn’t have the ultimate point orbs as in standard game but sometimes a power-up orb appears instead of the point orbs.

Competitive

Competitive matches resemble those of the standard model. Only a ranking system based on winning is added to this model.  This system gives a rank to the players once they are done with 5 games. Recently, Riot introduced a condition of “win by two”  for competitive matches. In this condition teams alternatively, play rounds of attack and defense instead of a single round of sudden death at 12-12. The alternate rounds will go on till a team wins by the lead of 2 matches.

Every overtime round provides the players with the same amount of money to buy abilities and guns. Also, almost half of their ultimate ability is charged with each overtime round. After every 2 rounds, players can opt to end the game with a draw Which will require 3 players after the first set, 3 after the second, and thereafter the only player to agree to a tie.

Deathmatch

Valorant Deathmatch mode is introduced in the latest versions of the game. In this mode, 10 players start a match which is free to enter. The winner is that player who makes 30 or most kills in the given time period. Players spawn in with a random agent who they unlock in the game. All the abilities are deactivated in this mode.
